Sriram Law Academy (SLA) Whizkids 2011 was held on the 25th of September 2011 at the Narada Gana Sabha mini hall. Hosted by the ace quizmaster Mr. V.V.Ramanan, this edition was a huge success. The four on-stage teams of three students per team  from the T. Nagar and Adyar branches competed fiercely for the top spot.  All the participants were eager and well prepared but Team 1comprising of Shriram Sridharan, Aruna Pallav, Pallavi Balakrishnan emerged the winners, closely followed by teams 3, 2 and 4.

This time round, the quizmaster introduced a new format, the “Infinite Pounce”, which allowed the teams to attempt all the questions. This format ensured that all the teams got an equal opportunity to answer the questions and the competition was closely fought. The questions were relevant and interesting covering a wide range of topics. The teams had to tackle questions like “What books did Vishnu Sharma and Vishnu Gupta write?” and “Name the coldest capital, visited by President Pratibha Patil recently.”

The SLA Whizkids 2011 saw keen participation from the finalists as well as the audience. The Google Doodle round which was a common written round, was as usual the most interesting round, with a bunch of Google’s special doodles about South Korea’s independence day, Anant Pai’s birthday, Yuri Gagarian’s space travel, Morse code and the Last Theorem among others were posed.

A new edition, a new format, a great quiz master and competition that couldn't get tougher. SLA Whizkids just got better and we can’t wait for the next edition.
